A. COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course includes operations with functions; the study of polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions and their graphs; sequences and variation. Completion of Algebra 2 with a passing grade is required for graduation. Note: This course does not have the content and rigor to prepare students for precalculus.

B. COURSE OBJECTIVES

1. This course teaches students to perform operations with rational, radical, and polynomial expression, as well as expressions involving complex numbers.

2. This course provides students with the opportunity to use relationships among the solutions of an equation, zero of a function, x-intercepts of a graph, and factors of a polynomial expression to solve problems involving relations and functions.
